Hello and welcome to the Deeping Rangers U18s Sunday
team pages.
My name is Rob Jerram and I am the manager of the side
for the forthcoming Peterborough and District Youth Football League Division One
season. I will be assisted by Chris Sparkes.
During the coming campaign I will update these pages as
regularly as I can with match reports, news, league tables and even the
occasional picture!
The U18s are being run slightly differently from
previous seasons with both the midweek U18s and the Sunday U18s forming one
squad, which will train and socialise together.
From the large squad myself, Graham Mallen and Tony
Howitt (manager's of the midweek side) have picked our own squads with some
players crossing over and playing for both sides.
Training sessions are held together to allow the players
to get to know each other and form a bond.
I have to say I am overwhelmed by the number of players
we had wanting to play for the two sides this season and some of the talent we
have is absolutely exceptional.
Currently we train on a Monday evening at the football
club between 6.30pm and 8pm, but we will soon be moving to the Leisure Centre's
all-weather pitches on a Tuesday evening from 6pm-7pm.
The Sunday side also have an extra session on a Thursday
evening when possible.
As the season nears I feel confident we have a squad
more than capable of challenging for league and cup honours and look forward to
picking up silverware come the end of the campaign.
The players are all hungry and determined to do well and
have been working hard on their fitness and football in
training.
The current squad of players is: GK - Robbie Virgin. DF
- Chris Pike, Dan Flood, James Croson, Adam Sparkes, Nico Staffieri, Jamie
Thurston, Glenn Longden, Lewis Hall, Kristian Davies. MF - Tom Smith, Chris
While, Aidan Cater, Christopher Henderson, Richard Pickering, Dean Thomas, Lee
Verrall. FW - Lewis Godfrey, Jordan Avis, Matt Lincoln, Stephen Parker, Tom
Bownes.
Please check the fixtures section and come down and
support the boys on a Sunday.
Our home fixtures are all at 2pm and all away matches
are within short driving distance.
Thanks for reading.
