Welcome to the Deeping
Blues Under 10s. I hope all the players have had a well deserved break after a
long, successful season. Last season saw us accomplish my prediction that we
would finish 3rd in a very tough league(well done to Blue Zone
champions, Rippingale), as well as winning the Deeping Tournament and
runners-up in the Bourne Tournament. The icing on last seasons cake was our
surprising, but well deserved Fair Play Award. To win this award, while
finishing the league in 3rd place, proves that a team can be
extremely competitive but still play fairly and sportingly. Something the whole
team, coaches and parents can be very proud of and something many Premiership
teams could learn from.
The whole team is
extremely proud of one of our players, James Roberts, who left the team during
the season to be a player in the Peterborough Utd Academy and we all wish him
well. His place has been more than ably taken by Joshua Cameron, who as joined
us from Glinton. He has already made an impact with the team, winning
tournament medals with us as well as with the Clarets, while at the Yaxley
Tournament on loan for the day. Goodbyes have also been said to Alex Blades and
we all wish him well in his footballing future.
With 11 aside soccer only
a year away, this is a big season, with some big decisions to be made at the
end of it. If all the Blues players repeat last seasons form, ability,
dedication and team commitment then Im sure Dave will have a huge headache with
next years U11 team selection as well as the Blues having another hugely
successful U10 season.
Cheers
Dean
